Hector John MacInnes.

Hi, my name is John MacInnes. My late Father was at RAF Yatesbury from May 1955 to around December 1955 before moving on to Leuchars. Below is a picture from his time at Yatesbury. He is identified with an arrow at the top right hand corner.

I am unable to place the names to faces but believe the fellow third from the left in the second row with glasses was 'Podge' and the man fourth from the left in the front row with his hands clasped was Jocelyn, an Irishman.

Here are the signatures that are on the back of the photograph.

I am keen to hear from anybody who may have known my father when he was in the RAF. I'd like to know what sort of person he was and any anecdotes (particularly humorous) that anyone may have of him.

His full name was Hector John MacInnes and he was native to the Isle of Sky and thus a Gaelic speaker. He was born in 1930. Before being called up he had just graduated from Aberdeen University after studying agriculture. Prior to Yatesbury he had previously trained at RAF Hednesford.
